Do you sometimes wonder where your time goes? Do you get to the end of the week and feel that you have achieved nothing more than cleaning the house and ironing a few shirts?
I recently come across a story of big and little stones that I thought I would share with you.
Imagine that you have a big glass jar in front of you, this represents the time you have for all the elements in your life. The stones and sand represent the elements that you want in your life.
Put the big stones in first. These are the most important elements in your life: Spending time with loved ones. Writing a novel. Building the core elements of your business. Your health.
Fit in the medium stones. These are still important elements but not the most essential for you right now: Going to work. Volunteering in the community.
Drop in the little stones, for example, hobbies.
Shovel in some sand (Cleaning the house, ironing).
Your jar is now full.
The important part of this story is that if you don’t put the big stones in the jar first then you’ll never be able to fit them all in the jar. If you give priority to all of the little stones and sand you will not have enough time to dedicate to the important elements of your life.
Does your jar have any big stones or have the little stones and sand taken over??
