Have you wondered how to create a vision board? You’ve heard people talking about them, maybe seen a picture or two, but wondered where on earth you start?!
Come this way my friend . . .
Learning how to create a vision board is a lot of fun! Because who said that achieving your goals had to be boring?
Now if you’re sitting there wondering what a vision board actually is then you’ve come to the right place! A vision board is a visual representation of a goal, vision or lifestyle that you are working towards. The power of having a vision board is that it gives you clarify on what you want to achieve and provides you with inspiration.
Our lives can get busy. Sometimes this means that we lose sight of what we want to work towards. Having a visual reminder of your “why” can be a helpful motivator.
If you’ve never seen a vision board before then picture a collection of images (words too if you want) that represent the vision, or goal, that you want to work towards. The photo at the top of this page is part of a vision board that I created one year.
How to create a vision board using your favourite magazines
You can create your vision board by grabbing a bunch of your favourite magazines and some scissors. Choose the images that call to you and get snipping.
Either glue the images to a sheet of paper or pin them onto a cork board.
These are some wonderful examples from participants in my past courses:
If you’d rather have a vision board that you can always have with you, on your phone or tablet, then come this way . . .
How to create a vision board with Pinterest and PicMonkey
Ahhh who doesn’t love Pinterest?
Hours of enjoyable browsing can be spent there.
To get started create a new board within Pinterest and give it a name that aligns to your vision. You have the option to make your board public or to keep it private.
Instead of randomly browsing use the search function at the top of the page to find images on your particular goal . . .
As you find images that you like pin them to your board.
It’s as simple as that!
Before you know if you’ll have a gorgeous vision board to inspire you.
If you’d like to go one step further, you can use the images that you’ve found and create a wonderful collage to have as your vision board.
To create a collage follow these steps:
- Save each of your selected images to your computer.
- Go to PicMonkey and click “Collage” at the top of the page.
- Upload each of your Pinterest photos into your PicMonkey collage.
- Rearrange the photos until the collage looks perfect to you.
- Save the image to your computer.
I’d suggest printing out at copy of the vision board and putting it somewhere that you see it every day.
Here is a great example from another participant:
If you like to share, then I’d love to see your vision board. Put it in the comment below or paste a link to your Pinterest board.
