I flew up to Auckland for two days to take part in a workshop for the internet marketing program I am currently on and to attend the first day of the World Internet Seminar.
The 4 hour workshop was invaluable for connecting with others who are doing the same program and for answering the technical and strategic questions that I had about how to achieve the most I can from internet marketing.
While I was a lawyer I never really felt comfortable networking in an environment where I didn’t know anyone – it always felt like cold calling and quite false to who I was. Now I love it! Basically I’m keen to meet as many people as possible to see what they are up to and to share with them what I have learnt. If I happen to gain more coaching clients from the discussions then that’s great but its no longer my main motivation.
The seminar was also helpful as it allowed me to see the diverse ways that different speakers present and market themselves. I wrote a blog article this week about one of the speakers, Mr Motivation, and you can read that here…
I was also fortunate enough to be able to speak to my Brett McFall and Donna-Marie Coggins who run the internet marketing program (Brett is also the co founder of the World Internet Summit).
Next week will be all about applying what I’ve learned this week.
